What is Joomla?
Joomla is an award-winning 'Content Management System' (CMS) which allows us to create very powerful online applications. It's major advantage is that the user can update their content with very little effort, and a WYSIWYG Article Editor makes this task simple.
You, the user, have complete control over your site. With a little instruction from ourselves, keeping it fresh and up-to-date is a relatively simple task.
Joomla itself is very 'Search Engine Friendly' and we use relevant add-ons to improve this even further. Our sites rank very well for their chosen keywords, and some of our clients have been amazed at how quickly this has occurred.
What is Virtuemart?
Virtuemart is an add-on for Joomla which provides a powerful, yet easily managed 'shopping cart' function. It will be configured according to your options by ourselves, and basic instructions on how to keep it up to date will be provided.
What type of site can Joomla be used for?
Joomla is powerful enough, and has enough add-ons available, to cope with practically any task. We have provided simple static-page sites, full ecommerce solutions, auction sites, etc with relative ease.
How long will it take to get my site designed?
Your site, from initial agreement, should take no longer than 2 weeks for delivery. We will provide a choice of templates, with our recommendation. Once we have agreed this, we will then set your basic 'shell' up and configure it to your requirements.
How will I know how much it will cost?
We have our basic pricing structure listed above, but each site is unique and has differing levels of complexity according to what functionality is required. If we feel that your site is a little more complicated than our basic package, we will inform you from the outset how much it is likely to cost. We tend to stay close to our basic pricing for the majority of cases.
Will I receive support after I receive my site?
We provide ongoing support for all of our customers, it is one of our basic principles of business and we apply it in all areas of our business. If you have a problem, we are on hand to help.
Will you provide domain names and hosting?
Yes, we can arrange your domain name for you, and provide Linux-based hosting at £30 per annum. We provide a 'plesk' control panel, allowing you to setup email accounts, view stats, etc. Our own sites are hosted on the same servers, so we will automatically monitor any potential problems which can arise.
OK, what do I need to do to get started?
The best intial thing you can do is to look closely at our Website Request Form and then fill it in with as much information as you can provide. The more information you give us at the start, the easier our task is, and the less questions we will send you via email. Once we recive your form, we will assess your requirements and give you a formal quotation for our services, detailing exactly what we intend to provide.
How do you pay for a site?
We ask that all sites are paid for 50% in advance, 50% upon completion. We accept payment by Paypal, Credit Card, Cheque, BACS, Postal Order, etc. If you have a specific need, please let us know, and we will happily oblige.
Annually, you will receive a further invoice for domain renewal and hosting, if you opted for these too.
